A physician who has treated thousands of hematology and oncology patients over his 30-year career, Dr. Kenneth D. Nahum works at Regional Cancer Care Associates in Howell, New Jersey. Dr. Kenneth D. Nahum maintains active membership in organizations including the American Society of Hematology (ASH).
In September 2018, ASH announced the launch of a sickle cell disease clinical trials network, with the purpose of advancing treatment therapies and the possibility of a cure. Representatives of the network aim to match trial sponsors with research sites and recruit patients to participate.
ASH will also strive to enhance the efficiency of clinical trials by increasing coordination and data sharing and helping to improve trial design and administrative oversight. The network will include a central institutional review board to act as an umbrella over all research sites and trial sponsors. Led by director Charles Chesson, PhD, the network plans to be ready to initiate its first study in the fall of 2019.
